There are numerous fairs and festivals all year-long in White Haven and throughout the communities in the Pocono Mountains. Some visitors may wish to plan their vacations around these diverse events, which include everything from September’s Pocono Garlic Festival in Stroudsberg to June’s Pocono Mountains Bluegrass Festival in Newfoundland. Every August, White Haven’s residents celebrate for one long weekend with the annual Jam Below the Dam. Originally named the White Haven River Festival, the Jam features a host of family-friendly activities, including car and motorcycle shows, karaoke contests, live music, pet shows, and a food and crafts fair.

Also in August is the annual Pocono Mountains Film Festival held at the Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort in Shawnee on Delaware. The three-day event includes screenings of independent, feature-length documentaries and short films as well as an awards ceremony and banquet dinner. Day passes to all screenings are $10.
